Sustainability in Stödig Ship Management (SSM)

In 2015 the United Nations Member States adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership.

The SDGs recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans, forests and wildlife.

SSM stands firmly behind the SDGs and are committed to do what we can to contribute in reaching them. Meeting the goals will not only be good for our employees, local and global societies, customers and suppliers as well as the environment. It will also be good for Stödig’s own business.

To bridge SSM in our efforts to support achieving the SDG goals we have adopted the principles of the Environment, Social and Governance approach (ESG). It will in particular support the achievement of goals 3,8,13 and 14.

“E” (Environment) we will focus on:
• Climate risk and climate footprint
• Emission and energy reproduction
• Biodiversity and marine pollution

“S” (Social) we will focus on:
• Health, safety and security
• Labour and human rights

“G” (Governance) we will focus on:
• Anti- corruption
• Accountability and transparency

We will establish Performance Indicators (PIs) as relevant and our performance will be posted regularly on this web site. New internal and external initiatives endorsed by Stödig will also be announced here.
