Windward Offshore and Stödig join forces for CSOV management
Windward Offshore GmbH & Co. KG has entered a joint venture with Stödig Ship Management AS to manage the technical and crew operations of its Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs). The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reflects the companies’ shared commitment to operational excellence in offshore wind services.
Based in Hamburg, the partnership will oversee four advanced CSOVs, each capable of accommodating 120 personnel, ensuring comfort and safety during offshore wind operations. The vessels, built on the innovative Vard 4 19 design, feature battery hybrid technology and are prepared for green methanol fuel. The first delivery is scheduled for late 2025, with the remaining vessels following in 2026.
After an extensive tender process, Windward Offshore selected Stödig for its proven expertise in managing Service Operation Vessels (SOVs) and handling complex offshore projects. “Stödig’s capabilities align perfectly with our focus on excellence in offshore wind operations,” said Benjamin Vordemfelde, Managing Director of Windward Offshore.
Stödig, a part of the Seatrans Group, has over 50 years of experience in shipping and a strong record in walk-to-work operations. “We are excited to bring our tailored, high-quality services to this partnership,” added Gisle Rong, Managing Director of Stödig Ship Management.
